Why preparation changes the quote.
Preparation addresses the paint beneath the coating; applying a coating does not remove existing swirls or defects.
A car with existing defects or previous repairs can need different preparation from one with sound, clean paint. That difference changes the work being priced.

What is included.
- The quote identifies the preparation for your car’s paint condition.
- Any proposed correction is part of the preparation scope, not an effect of the coating itself.
- The coating name and treated surfaces define the application scope.
Price basis
Product listing versus studio application.
A bottle or kit price covers a product, not the same work as studio application. Preparation and the surfaces treated make the jobs different.
Comparable studio quotes describe the same coating, preparation and application scope. A low product price alone does not establish a lower total for that work.

What does coating cost for a hatchback?
For a hatchback, the treated body area is one factor; paint defects and any earlier coating can change the preparation. The coating specification and surfaces included complete the scope.
What does coating cost for an SUV?
SUV dimensions vary, so the area being treated matters more than the SUV label. The quote also reflects paint condition, preparation and the selected coating.
What does coating cost for a luxury car?
A luxury badge does not define the coating job. Existing paint condition, previous repairs, the treatment’s surface suitability and the preparation scope are the relevant comparisons.
Is the price per layer?
Layer count alone is not a useful price basis. Compare the complete application specification, coating product, preparation and treated surfaces; more layers do not automatically mean a better-matched treatment.
Does the warranty cover scratches?
A coating is not scratch-proof. Any warranty coverage depends on the product’s written terms and exclusions; a durability claim is not a promise to cover scratches.
Can coating quotes be compared by brand alone?
No. Two quotes carrying the same brand can differ in product specification, preparation and surfaces treated. Those details need to match for a meaningful comparison.
How long before I can drive?
Your quote includes the expected handover time, once the paint condition and application scope are established.
